We were happy to roll out our Steph Kuri Variety at this year's Culinary Breeding Network event, which was moved to a virtual platform and took place over February and March. The Culinary Breeding Network, an organization that has made its mission to build communities of plant breeders, seed growers, farmers, produce buyers, chefs, and other stakeholders to improve quality in vegetables, fruits, and grains based in the Pacific Northwest but with their work reaching far and wide across North America.
While Vitalis sponsored the event to support CBN's initiatives, the Vitalis team also participated in their Variety Showcase. This well-loved event brings some of Portland, Oregon's best chefs and mixologists together to create outstanding dishes. Beyond that, the Showcase also presents plant breeders, seed growers, and agricultural researchers with the opportunity to show their work, collect opinions and use input to guide the improvement of quality and taste in vegetables and grains! Since 2014 Variety Showcase events have drawn hundreds of attendees in Portland, OR, Honolulu, HI, and New York City, NY and continue to grow in size, scope, and excitement each year.
We were excited to share more about this exciting new MVP of Winter Squash at CBN this year. We wanted to share our overview, history and introduction to Steph Kuri with you as well…
